Thanks to Halo Waypoint/343 / HBO for support.
the Infinity captain is Mark Rolston – IIRC he was the 2nd “Smart”/Machine gunner besides Vasquez, Drake.
Thanks! I forgot to look that up previously. Going to be watching that film soon anyhow, so I’ll keep an eye out.

Oops, didnt notice the link was already here 🙂
lol makes it twice as likely they’ll see it. . . . .but i doubt it 😉
We’ve seen it. 🙂
Maybe the Spartan IVs were already off the Infinity on a mission when the live action trailer starts. Possibly looking for Halsey & the other Spartan IIs and IIIs?
I dont think so. In Glasslands, ONI already know where Halsey and Spartans are and there is gonna be another book before Halo 4 whre they are gonna be extracted i believe. I dont think onyx it self is gonna be source of any other major events.
Now when i going trough the end of the Glasslands…they actually have been all extracted already from onyx…
Question for FUD podcasters – someone from 343 said (dont remember who exactly), that all what we have seen from campain (except live action ofc) is ingame and all the animations in campaign are gonna be ingame.
But i just cant believe that the beginning of the campaign demo (Infinity going down the skyes, orb scanning the area) was ingame. For me, that vas obviously pre-rendered. No word about CGI from 343.
Your opinion ?
Hard to say. Didn’t particularly look prerendered, but it might be real-time in “ideal” conditions that won’t necessarily be replicated in game either. The recent Eurogamer tech demo article seems to refer to that shot as “in-engine”. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-tech-analysis-halo-4-at-e3
Some details just look too good. Like the clouds around Infinity going trough. I dont know. Gameplay looks great, but not as good as the cutscene. Might be just the cinamatic work.
Or maybe pre-rendered cutscene made in ingame engine with some enhancements.
Will wait and see.
Infinity falling through the clouds is pre-endered but at that point, it splices with the real in game cutscene.
The Orb and everything afterwards is 100% in the game though. 😀
Hmm, I can’t find that sentinel art in the gallery. Can you link it here?

Oh, those ones.
My issue with the halo 4 trailers is the covenant. It seems as though the covenant are regrouped or are these covenant those still loyal to the san’shyuum who fled during the great schism? I’ve read nearly every book several times because I absolutely love the back and side stories. I would love to hear the explanation as to why the covenant are back. At the end of halo 3 peace seemed to finally come. Glasslands explained the possibility of the unsc starting a civil war in the sangheilli “government” so I am wondering what happened in the covenant in the 4 years inbetween halo 3 and 4. Thoughts?
The next Halo book will shed some light on Halo 4’s Covenant.
If you remember Glasslands, you’ll recall two sides – the Arbiters and Mdama’s.
The Arbiter wanted a peace with Humanity and believed the Forerunners were not Gods, Mdama believes Humanity should be wiped out and that Forerunners are Gods, no matter what lies the former leaders of the Covenant told them.
The Covenant in Halo 4 are very religious and are searching to find a sleeping god… 😀
Anyone see Halo Legends? I didn’t think so..
Of course we’ve seen Halo Legends. 🙂
